Introduction to Kwikcast
Kwikcast is a remote viewing technology used for general Customer Service Support, Building & Letting Inspections, Property & Car Appraisals, Insurance Assessments & Quotations and similar applications by businesses that want to improve their speed of response and levels of customer service whilst reducing their Carbon footprint.
Kwikcast also allows both businesses and individuals to be able to offer new business services which would not be realistically cost-effective if they had to make physical visits to and from locations.
When you start a Kwikcast Session, you consent to allow remote access to the camera on your mobile device and this allows the agent to then effectively see what you are seeing in real-time and use that information to find a faster and more accurate resolution for you, or gain a better understanding of a situation or the condition of an item or just carry out a general inspection as in the case of building construction and rental property reviews.
The Kwikcast 'remote view' technology is a completely optional service and we will never take images or video footage from the camera on your device without the express knowledge, permission, and assistance of you, the customer.
About your Kwikcast Session
What do I need?
Kwikcast works on all smartphones, pads and pad PC's with built-in cameras. Kwikcast sessions are initiated via a simple TXT or Email message which means that there is no need for you to download and install an app or plug-in.
Starting a session
To start a Kwikcast session, you will be asked to provide your mobile number or email address. This information is used only to TXT or Email you a secure link which you then click on to Start the session. Mobile phone numbers and/or Email addresses are automatically deleted at the end of the session and no contact information is retained by Kwikcast.
Use of your phone or pad camera
When the Kwikcast session first starts, you will be prompted to allow access to the camera on your device. If you do not allow access, the system operator will be informed and the session will not proceed. (although you may be asked whether you declined the invitation in error. In this case, the system user will be able to resend another request to access the camera on your device.) When you grant access to your camera, the Kwikcast session will begin and whatever you point your camera at from that point onwards the agent will be able to see and take images and/or record video.
Recording of images & video
Whilst in a Kwikcast session, the system operator may capture video and/or images. This information is used by the operator or others within the company to better assess and understand issues or inspect condition or compliance in the case of building inspections, or to provide a quotation for some new work or to make repairs.
Sound
In some circumstances, the system operator may also ask for access to your microphone. This is usually because the original call was on a landline and you now need to move somewhere else to show something away from that phone. The system operator can then switch the call to your mobile device but to do this you will need to give access to the microphone.
Third parties
In some circumstances, the images and video footage taken during the live session may need to be shared with 3rd parties. This is often to improve the manufacturing process or design, to gain a quotation, to help an engineer better understand an issue or some similar circumstances where a third party needs to better understand an issue.
Pausing and Restarting session
Should you wish to pause the Kwikcast session for any reason, this can be achieved by simply clicking on the ‘pause button which is always displayed on the session screen. When the session is paused, your camera will stop and you will get an on-screen message to inform you of the fact. To restart the session, simply click on the restart button.
Ending the session
Under normal circumstances, the agent will end the Kwikcast session, but should you wish to end the session prematurely for any reason, this can be done by pressing the Close button which is always displayed on the session screen.
Retained data
Retained data The information captured within a Kwikcast session (Notes, Images and/or Video) is used only in respect of the inspection, issue or quotation, or if shared with 3rd parties, to gain approval to proceed with a purchase or repair or to improve design, production, installation or shipment. Should you wish for a copy of the data recorded, please contact the company that undertook the session and they will be able to provide you with a secure link for you to review.
